In a previous article, Selecting your Hardwoods: Pre-finished vs. Site-finished, we mentioned that one of the major selling points of prefinished wood floors tends to be the hard aluminum oxide factory-applied finish.  While it is true that this top-coat is hard, we think it is silly to make your flooring decision based off of the top-coat alone.
